Handmade Creepy Gothic Plush Doll | Orphan Asylum Gothling Intake # 1043

Intake #1043 — “Specter”

Orphan Asylum Intake Form
Case No.: 1043
Status: Awaiting Adoption

He did not arrive so much as appear.

One moment the intake table was empty. Then it wasn’t. The staff have reviewed the sequence of events several times and have arrived at no satisfying explanation, so they have filed it under the same category as most things that happen in this ward after dark: noted, unresolved, moving on.

They call him Specter.

He is the pale, cool grey-blue of something that exists slightly outside the normal rules of light — not reflecting it quite right, not absorbing it quite fully, occupying some intermediate state that the staff have stopped trying to classify and started simply accepting. He is long-limbed in the loose, untroubled way of something that has never been particularly bound by physical convention and finds the whole concept of gravity more of a suggestion than a requirement.

The eyes are black — two deep, stitched ovals that take up most of his face, fringed at their edges like something seen through fog — and below them, a small stitched mouth pulled into what the day nurse calls a grin and the night nurse calls something else. Both are correct.

The wings are the fact of him. Black, sharp, tucked back against his sides in the folded posture of something that is not currently flying and has not decided when it will. They are not decorative. They are structural. They go where he goes.

The heart on his chest is black — large, deliberate, stitched down with the care of something that was placed there on purpose as the single most important fact about him.

Condition: Handmade. One of a kind.
Temperament: Weightless. Ancient-feeling. The specific calm of something that has been in the dark long enough to stop being afraid of it and start finding it comfortable.
Special Notes: The intake table was empty. Then it wasn’t. The staff have stopped writing this down separately and simply noted it as his arrival method.

He carries a black heart and pale wings and has been drifting between places for longer than most. He is simply looking for one worth staying in.

Once bonded, separation is discouraged.
