He is small and he knows it and he has made his position on the matter very clear.

The position is: irrelevant. He arrived dark and compact and utterly self-possessed, those two bright green eyes catching the light with the alert, forward energy of something that has been overlooked before and has long since stopped letting it define the agenda. He sat down. He looked up. He waited with the specific patience of someone who understands that good things come to those who are also, in the meantime, paying close attention.

They call him Pip.

He is the dark charcoal of something dense and quietly capable — the grey of graphite and river slate and things that are small in dimension and considerable in substance. He is the smallest resident currently on file from the woods intake series and carries himself with the confidence of someone who has heard that observation and found it neither interesting nor particularly relevant to his plans.

The buttons are his finest feature — five of them, alternating green and yellow, marching down his chest like a tiny illuminated path, like a string of lights someone hung carefully down the center of him to make sure you didn't miss what was there. They are cheerful in a way that is entirely genuine and slightly unexpected against all that dark, which is, the staff have come to understand, exactly the point.

The blue stitching on his face is precise and neat. The green eyes above it are enormous relative to everything else about him. He sees things. All of them.

Condition: Handmade. One of a kind.
Temperament: Alert. Compact. The kind of big personality that arrives in a small body and immediately makes the size question feel very silly indeed.
Special Notes: He is the smallest. He has the most buttons. The staff have concluded these facts are related and that he is aware of this.

He lit himself up down the middle so you wouldn't walk past him in the dark. The right person will stop, look down, and understand immediately that they've found something worth keeping.

Once bonded, separation is discouraged.
