The fifth one from the woods, and by far the most colorful.

The staff heard her before they saw her — not audibly, but in the way a room changes temperature when something genuinely warm enters it. She came out of the tree line in full hot pink, blue bat wings fanned at her crown like a crown she grew herself, heart-shaped eyes stitched in blue and gold looking at the intake table as if she had been expecting it and found it satisfactory. She sat down. She arranged her hearts. She looked at the staff as if to say: well, here we are then.

They call her Plenty.

She carries three hearts on her chest — red, blue, green — clustered together like a bouquet, like a collection, like evidence of a creature who has loved several things deeply and in different ways and has kept every single one of them rather than choosing. The staff find this either the most generous or the most complicated thing they have encountered in the intake process and have settled, after some discussion, on both.

The blue bat wings at her crown are vivid against all that pink — a deliberate contrast, a flourish that is neither incidental nor subtle, worn with the ease of someone who decided long ago that more is more and has not been given sufficient reason to reconsider.

Her eyes are hearts too. Of course they are.

Condition: Handmade. One of a kind. Temperament: Abundant. Wholehearted. The specific generosity of someone who has enough love that they have simply stopped keeping track of it. Special Notes: Three hearts. The staff have asked whether one would have been sufficient. Plenty has not dignified this with a response.

She didn't come out of the woods with one heart to offer. She came with three. The right person will understand that this is not too much — it is exactly, precisely, the right amount.

Once bonded, separation is discouraged.
