She arrived certain about exactly two things and uncertain about nothing else.

That is the most precise way the staff have found to describe her. Hot pink from head to toe, one orange button eye blazing on the left, one blue button eye steady on the right, sitting with the grounded composure of someone who has made peace with the fact that she contains apparent contradictions and has decided this is not a problem to be solved but a feature to be understood.

They call her Tandem.

She is the pink of something genuinely, fully alive — not decorative pink, not apologetic pink, but the operational pink of a creature running at full capacity on all systems simultaneously. She is round and solid and present in the way of something that takes up exactly the space it needs and fills it completely.

The heart on her chest is the whole story — split cleanly down the middle, one half blue, one half orange, two colors that have no business being that close together and have clearly decided to be inseparable anyway. A small pink button holds the seam between them, the single point where the two halves press together and are kept. The stitching around the whole thing is pink — her color, her thread, her hold on both of them.

One eye the color of warmth. One eye the color of depth. Both of them looking at you at once.

Condition: Handmade. One of a kind. Temperament: Whole. Decided. The specific completeness of something that has already integrated everything it is into something that simply works. Special Notes: The two halves of the heart have never separated. The staff do not believe they can. They believe this is entirely intentional.

She doesn't need anyone to complete her — the halves already hold each other. She simply needs someone to sit with all of it, and find, as she has, that it's more than enough.

Once bonded, separation is discouraged.
