He was not on the ground when they found him.

The staff want to be precise about this. He was not floating — there is a stand, and it has been documented — but the overall impression upon entering the room was of something that had simply declined to be subject to the same gravitational considerations as everyone else and had made practical arrangements accordingly. The wild black hair. The mismatched eyes. The stitched mouth curved into something that is not quite a grin and not quite a grimace and lands precisely in the territory of I know something you don't.

They call him Levity.

He is white — clean, complete, the white of something that arrived without accumulated weight and has been careful about what it takes on since. Small and slight and elevated, he looks out at the ward from his perch with the particular perspective of something that has always seen things from a slightly different angle and has come to prefer it.

The black oval on his chest is his most anchoring feature — a dark center in all that white, stitched around its edge in white thread with a small X at the bottom like a signature, like a landing point, like the one place where he has agreed to be located. Everything else about him suggests he could drift. The patch says: here. I am here. I have decided.

The mismatched eyes agree on nothing except that they are both paying attention.

Temperament: Light. Perceptive. The specific kind of unbothered that comes not from indifference but from altitude — he simply sees more from up there.
Special Notes: He has remained elevated since intake. The staff have stopped treating this as temporary and started treating it as his natural state. It suits him entirely.

He found a way to rise above it — whatever it was — and has been up here ever since, waiting for someone worth coming down for.

Once bonded, separation is discouraged.
