She is the most red thing the staff have ever processed.

Not a shade of red, not a variety of red — red in the way that a statement is red, in the way that a conviction is red, in the way of something that selected its color the way some people select a philosophy and has been living inside it ever since without a moment's equivocation. She arrived upright and certain, those two black heart-shaped eyes fixed forward with the intensity of something that has decided what it cares about and has organized its entire existence accordingly.

They call her Ardor.

She sees in hearts. The eyes are hearts — two of them, stitched in white around their edges, looking out at the world through the shape of the thing she is most fundamentally about. The heart on her chest is black and large and stitched in white with the same careful hand, worn not as decoration but as fact. She carries three hearts in total, all of them deliberate, none of them accidental.

The black lace bow at her temple is her one flourish — worn at a precise and considered angle, the single note of texture in an otherwise entirely saturated composition. It is the detail that makes everything else cohere. The staff have noted that it was already there when she arrived, already perfect, already hers.

The small white X below the chest heart is her signature. Everything else about her announces. The X simply confirms.

She sees in hearts. She thinks in hearts. She is, from the inside out, entirely made of the thing most people spend their whole lives trying to find. The right person will recognize this immediately — and will not waste another moment.

Once bonded, separation is discouraged.
