She arrived wearing blue bat wings like a very good idea she had on the way in.

Hot pink and settled and entirely composed, those two deep blue X-marked button eyes regarding the ward with the patient, warm attention of something that has found its look and its disposition and sees no reason to revise either. The wings at her crown are vivid cobalt against all that pink — not vestigial, not decorative in the passive sense, but chosen. Deliberate. The kind of accessory that tells you everything about a person before they say a word.

They call her Flutter.

She is the pink of something genuinely, warmly present — not the emergency pink of Fuchsia or the hot declaration of Jolly, but a softer, rounder pink, the pink of something that arrived already comfortable and is prepared to remain so. She is round and soft-limbed and settled in the way of something that has made peace with every dimension of itself and found the process not particularly dramatic.

The heart on her chest is blue — the same cobalt as the wings, as the eyes, a through-line of that color running from how she sees, to how she chose to adorn herself, to what she carries at her center. It is the most internally consistent color story in the ward and the staff find this either deeply intentional or simply the natural result of being exactly who you are all the way through.

The small pink X below the heart matches nothing — it is her own color, marked on herself, a signature in her own hand.

Condition: Handmade. One of a kind.
Temperament: Warm. Settled. The specific ease of something that has never been at war with itself and therefore has considerable energy left over for everything else.
Special Notes: The wings and the eyes and the heart are all the same blue. The staff noticed this on the third day. They have not stopped thinking about it since.

She is the same all the way through — outside, inside, from wing to heart. The right person will find this the most restful thing they have ever encountered.

Once bonded, separation is discouraged.
