He is small and he has been through something and he would prefer not to make a big thing of it.
That is the clearest reading of him the staff have managed — the white of something that started clean, the patches of blue stitched across his body like repairs made in available materials by someone who cared enough to make them carefully, those two bright blue button eyes of different sizes looking out at the world with the mild, steady attention of someone who has processed what happened and arrived, more or less, at fine.
They call him Stitch.
He is white in the way of things that have been through enough to acquire some texture — not the pristine white of Void or the architectural white of Hush but the lived-in white of something that was white to begin with and has accumulated its history in patches since. The blue that covers him — one large piece across his torso, one smaller piece at his cheek, both stitched down in blue thread with the careful attention of someone who understood that the stitching was the point — is not damage. It is amendment. Addition. The record of someone deciding he was worth the effort of continuing.
His eyes don't match in size, which gives him the expression of someone who has thought more carefully about some things than others and has stopped pretending otherwise.
He is, the staff note, very small. He carries his history visibly and without drama. He is sitting here waiting.
Condition: Handmade. One of a kind.
Temperament: Quiet. Resilient. The kind of understated that turns out, once you are paying attention, to be completely unforgettable.
Special Notes: He is the smallest resident currently in the woods intake series. The staff have placed him slightly forward on his shelf. He has not moved. He seems, in his small way, to appreciate it.
He was patched with care and it shows. The right person will see not what happened to him but what was done for him — and understand that those are very different things.
Once bonded, separation is discouraged.
