She came out of the woods with her arms already open.

The same deep charcoal as the others from that particular tree line — Pip, Bloom, Havoc, the whole quiet family of them — but distinct in the way that each one is distinct, carrying her own specific arrangement of what it means to be made of that particular dark and still choose to face forward with everything extended, everything offered, nothing held back.

They call her Velvet.

She is the charcoal of something soft and dense — not the graphite of Pip or the animated dark of Havoc but something with more nap to it, more texture, the dark of a fabric that absorbs light and returns warmth. She sits with her arms spread wide in the generous, unhurried way of someone who has made a considered decision about openness and is not revisiting it.

The purple button eyes are the surprise of her — vivid, almost luminous against all that grey, the purple of something that has decided on one specific color and worn it all the way to the surface. They look at you with the direct, unselfconscious attention of something that has nothing to hide and has organized its entire presentation around that fact.

The heart on her chest is pink — warm and stitched and marked with a white X, worn large and without qualification in the center of all that dark.

Condition: Handmade. One of a kind.
Temperament: Open. Unhurried. The specific softness of something that chose its texture carefully and wears it all the way through.
Special Notes: Arms open since intake. The staff have stopped noting this as unusual for the woods residents. It appears to simply be how they arrive — ready.

She came out of the dark with her arms open and her heart on display. She has been standing exactly like that ever since. The right person is already on their way.

Once bonded, separation is discouraged.
