They call him Biscuit.

He is the color of things that comfort — pale and warm and without a sharp edge anywhere on him. His eyes don't match, which gives him the permanent expression of someone working through a gentle puzzle they are in absolutely no hurry to solve. The small stitched marks beneath his nose suggest whiskers, or tallies, or simply the face of something that has learned to find things quietly amusing without making a production of it.

Two small brown buttons descend his chest like a modest, sensible formality — not a declaration, not a drama, just a small acknowledgment that presentation matters to him in a low-key, entirely unshowy way. The X below them is his only flourish. He considers it sufficient.

He is, the staff agree, the most genuinely easy resident the Asylum has ever processed. Not uncomplicated — simply settled. At home in himself in a way that takes some people a lifetime to manage.

Special Notes: The faint warmth that arrived with him has not left. Facilities cannot account for it. Nobody is complaining.
