There is a difference between small and unimportant, and Lichen would like the record to reflect that he is aware of it. He sat down on the intake table, lime green and compact and entirely settled, those two white X-marked eyes taking in the room with the unhurried assessment of something that grows slowly, deliberately, and in places people forget to look.

They call him Lichen.

He is the green of things that thrive in the in-between — not the bold green of Briar or the electric green of Vex or the feral green of Spite, but something quieter and more patient. The green of a thing that found a surface, decided it was sufficient, and got on with the business of being alive without making a production of it.

The heart on his chest is white — clean, bright, set against all that green like a small clearing in a wood — and into it, two green buttons pressed like eyes looking back at you, or seeds, or small anchored promises. It is the most considered detail about him, which is saying something because everything about him is considered.

The seam running down his face is stitched with the careful precision of someone who values the work of putting things back together and wanted it to show.

Condition: Handmade. One of a kind. Temperament: Patient. Self-sufficient. Deeply, quietly good company for those who don't need things to be loud to be real. Special Notes: He has not asked for anything since intake. He has also not moved from his spot, which the staff have come to think of less as waiting and more as simply being, which turns out to be its own kind of remarkable.

He doesn't need much. He just needs the right surface to take hold — and then he'll be there, steady and green and entirely himself, for as long as you'll have him.

Once bonded, separation is discouraged.
